The East Central Province is home to some of the oldest chapters within Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Its rich heritage was born out of eight fraternal districts which eventually were converted to provinces. Those eight provinces eventually gave rise to what we know today as the twelve provinces.
This chronological history of the East Central Province is an effort to provide precious, historical resource to present and future members of the East Central Province as well as the larger body of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. as a whole.
1916 - The 6th Grand Chapter Meeting) was held at Ohio State University Columbus, Ohio
1921 - The 11th Grand Chapter Meeting was held in Cleveland, Ohio.
At this time we were apparently part of the Third District as we were known then. Before the creation of Alumni Chapters, both Undergraduate and Graduates were in the same Chapter like Delta, Tau, etc.
1923 - George F. David, II, Delta Chapter was the (Third) District Manager. (Later he became the Third Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity).
1924 - C. O. Pearson of Delta Chapter was the District Manager
1925 - William F. Savoy of Delta Chapter was the District Manager 1926 **It was during
1926 that The Grand Chapter converted from 8 Districts to 8 Provinces: Eastern, Middle Eastern, North Central, Great Lakes, Northwestern, Western, Southern, and Southeastern. (WE BECAME PART OF THE MIDEASTERN PROVINCE) 1926

1928 - William F. Savoy, of Delta Chapter then Wilberforce Alumni (founded December 8th, 1928) was the Province Polemarch
1929 - George F. David, II of Wilberforce Alumni was Province Polemarch
1930 - E. Champ Warrick of Wilberforce Alumni was Province Polemarch
1931 - Dorsey T. Murray of Wilberforce Alumni was Province Polemarch
1932 - Benjamin L. Goode of Wilberforce Alumni was Province Polemarch
1932 (22nd Grand Chapter Meeting) was held in Charleston, West Virginia
1933 - Benjamin L. Goode of Wilberforce Alumni was Province Polemarch
1934 - William J. Madison of Zeta Chapter was Province Polemarch
The newly Created East Central Province started in 1934. The East Central Province met at Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio
1935 - William J. Madison of Zeta Chapter was Province Polemarch
